New Year Resolutions

FIRST OF ALL, A VERY HAPPY AND PROSPEROUS NEW YEAR

“The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written. We can help write that story by setting goals”

We have seen many people taking resolutions, and also our well wishers advising us to take resolution in this upcoming new year.

This is actually a very good habit of taking resolutions. It gives you the direction towards the path which you will follow throughout the year. This direction is very much-needed as without this people get stranded off and simply waste their precious time which could be utilized in an efficient manner.

Adding to this, resolutions for the year gives you a fixed time duration in which you target to achieve the goal you have decided upon.  For this, one needs to make a planner/schedule which they need to follow in order to get what they have decided.

Also doing this makes their life much organised at least for the upcoming year, and they will have a foresight of where they should reach after few months.

For eg: If I take a resolution of loosing my weight by 20 kg by the end of this year, then I must have a foresight that by the mid of the year, i.e. by June, I must have reduced minimum of 10 kg.

Overall, resolutions are sort of taking competition with yourself and aiming to win this competition. And if we achieve even 90% of what we had aimed for, this gives us a great boost to our morale.

So lets take a resolution to be a better human being, help the needy and spread peace, as there’s solution through violence……..

When we call ourselfs Developed??

I decided to write this after seeing various kinds of people from various places to which i have been..
The term “develop” according to the dictionary is : ‘grow or cause to grow and become more mature, advanced, or elaborate’. But according to my observation and thinking, above this comes getting evolved or adopted according to surroundings.
During my one of the visit to Manali(Himachal Pradesh), I met a old man aged 90s during trek. He helped my group to find our campsite when we were separated from the rest. While conversing, he said how he used to live his life.  He said:

“We never bother about our future. We have almighty to take care for it. And also we dont have such high ‘standards’ of living. We wake up and think what are we going to do today, do that thing and have a peaceful sleep”
I think this may be one of the very main reason why he was so fit and active at such age.
Now when we look towards the scenario on other side, people are busy competing for useless things, getting politics involved, suppressing weak and honest.
I dont say all of them are these, but yes majority are selfish when it comes to there personal gains. We overthink about our future, dont trust our self, getting jealous over other’s success and sometimes ruining the successful person too.
So, by doing this all things, we may even become “successful” in terms of monetary gains, but what about the “human” development. It gets deteriorated and destroyed.
At last, there are many important things i learned from that old man.
1.Be helpful and kind.
2.Never overthink and overburden yourself.
3.Have trust in yourself and your strength.
4.All happens for a good reason.

I have made a new website where I post my blogs.

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

The Mayonnaise Jar and 2 Cups of Coffee

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 cups of coffee.
A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar. He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.
The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a resounding "YES!"
The professor then produced two cups of coffee from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar, effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed.
"Now," said the professor as the laughter subsided, "I want you to recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the important things---God, your family, your children, your health, your friends and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house and your car. The sand is everything else---the small stuff."
"If you put the sand into the jar first," he continued, "there is no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you."
"Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Play with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with grandparents. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first---the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand."
One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the coffee represented.
The professor smiled and said, "I'm glad you asked. The coffee just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of cups of coffee with a friend."

"REAL" TOURISM

During last month, I had  visited The Andaman Islands.
Truly an "isolated" heaven out there...
It had plenty of beaches, resorts, and vast oceans touching the horizon.
But today the topic is about how to actually promote the tourism and also how to take care of the place where you live in.
-> First point is about cleanliness. They had a firm rule about banning the use of plastic.. During my 10 day's trip, I haven't found a shop where they gave there goods in a plastic bags.. That's something which we lack in the main country. Also the other thing was that around beaches.. The only edible thing available were coconuts along with some bananas. Not even water bottles were kept for selling. That kept the beach tidy which made us feel like we are not in India but somewhere in Mauritius..
-> Trustworthy people. All the localities around were helpful, kind in behaviour, polite during conversation and wouldn't hesitate a bit while helping you.
They respected tourists. Also the boat drivers and all of others were very much cooperative.
-> Next is about the mentality of people.. They had a mentality that this is my country and I shouldn't do anything that deteriorates its quality. They were self motivated, they had a felling inside them that not to pollute the city.
All the roads were clean, no plastic, no garbage. Each shop had a garbage bin in front of them which would be cleaned on daily basis.
They wouldn't allow you to collect shells and corals from beaches(not even after bribing).
They wouldn't promote the tribal people as to give them theirs privacy.
I had visited almost majority of the tourist's places in India.. But never saw this kind of tourism.. If you have such enthusiasm towards your country, then there is no need to advertise it for tourism. People will willingly come to visit that place.

OTHER SIDE OF THE COIN(INDIA)

India is in under the process of getting transformed from a developing country to a developed country...
There is been tremendous efforts by the government and other elite persons around...
But problem lies within the mentally of the people...
They want everything to be working according to the law except for the things belonging to themselves..
Such an irony...
Lets take a fresh example for this scenario which tempted me to write this article.
I live in a society where 100 families reside(approx.). Day before yesterday, there was a marriage ceremony. Marriage was of a policeman's son.
They all had a grand ceremony and was a great show. Then the annoying thing started..
They started a high bass DJ music party at 11pm. They had no care for the old aged people residing and also for the students studying late at night..
It continued till 3am.. They let that DJ banging all night..
Even there was a police complaint by one of the residents.. By it was astonishing that they came.. Visited.. Congratulated and left away..
Is this what citizen expect from the police men..!!
I don't say they are irresponsible and all stuffs.. They are very cooperative and helpful.. But at such occassion this feels heartbroken seeing such partiality and such behaviour when there is a needy act to perform..

5 Steps to Develop Your Personality

Everything is changing, growing and developing. It means that our society also requires some changes. People are willing to do whatever they want and live how they want. Read our five self development tips and apply them in our own life to make it better.

Tip#1 Accept yourself

It is completely up to you to decide when it is time to change your life. Gather all your strength and do it tomorrow, take personal responsibility for all your acts.  There is nobody who can do it instead of you. Your decisions today determine your future life.

Tip#2 Visualization is the best

One of the best ways to make your dreams come true is to make a picture of them inside your head. You can even find some similar photos in Internet and print them. Put photos in some place, where you can see them every day. They will help you to focus and visualize your goals.

Tip#3 Learn from errors

Learning from the errors is the best way to get success. Of course it is much better to learn from others mistakes, but in real life we all prefer to experience everything on a first hand. No matter whether it is a good thing or bad.
Tip#4 Challenge yourself

Only fool knows everything. It is an old, but very true to life proverb. Make yourself to learn something new every day. Find something interesting in your old, typical things and stuff.

Tip#5 Think positively

You mind should be full of positive thoughts and ideas. Let your surrounding inspire you to act. It will leave no room for negative thoughts. Only in this case you will succeed in your aims and commitments.

ANALYZING YOUR THOUGHTS!!😇

Why Should I Analyze My Thoughts:

Quality of thoughts determines the level of peace of mind. Negative thoughts result in negative acts which in turn causes distraction in emotions, unstable behavior, frequent mood swings, family complications, lack of trustworthiness, financial mistakes, professional brawls and so on. Healthy thoughts result in more positive outcomes, high happiness index, better health and so on. So all in all your thoughts are defining your present and your future.

There are several reasons for negative thoughts including but not limited to your circumstances, your brought up, financial situations, family conflicts, job and family complications. While you may not be able to fix these reasons, it is highly recommended to analyze your thoughts and mitigate the negative impact as much as possible. If you remove the impurities from your thoughts you would be able to have a positive, focused and prosperous mind.

How to Analyze My Thoughts:

If you have seen a big aquarium, you must have noticed that the fish keep wandering here and there continuously. From right to left, bottom to up, here and there; all day long. They don't seem to be getting any specific advantage while doing so. Same is the case with human mind. When your head is on the pillow, your brain starts wandering here and there. Several times it is processing the thoughts which shouldn't be the point of concern at all. Though fish do not know this but you can control your wandering of brain by picking up a specific thought/subject and ask these questions:
a)    Why am I thinking about this subject? Is this subject related to others? Why am I thinking negative about someone? I should mind my own business.
b)    What exactly is the issue? Is this something impacting (or going to impact) me or my family? Can I define my issue/question in one sentence clearly so that I can focus on the solution?
c)    How: can I resolve this issues? Is this doable? If not, can I take advice from others?. If I have the solution then what are the steps which needs to be taken?

How Can I Improve the standard of my Thoughts:
a)    Avoid thinking about unnecessary things specially related to others. Mind your own business. Posses a focused mind.
b)    Stop comparing yourself to others. It's an insult to yourself. You are a unique soul and you are independent on your living, your decisions and your destiny.
c)    Don't think of monetary gains too much. Excessive love for money and assets is the root of most of stresses. Work on your real wealth.
d)    Develop the habit of forgiving and letting things go off. If you are keeping the grudge in your brains for longer durations, you are killing yourself. Stress is a slow poison which deepens its roots your brain and destroy your physical and mental health.
e)    Read quality quotes or articles on positivity and try to absorb the message. This will kill the germs of negativity.
f)    Practice the habit of gratitude. Stop complaining, criticizing and blaming. When a negative thought comes in, convert it to positive by looking at the positive side of the issue.
g)    Instead of thinking about your 'wants' too much, think about your needs. This will reduce the magnitude of your focus because usually needs are limited but wants are too many. Adapt simple life style as it reduces unnecessary socio-economical issues.
